The Official Miss India Texas was crowned this month!
On October 24, 2009, an extraordinary pageant took place in the heart of Houston, Texas at the Renaissance Houston Hotel Greenway Plaza. This trail-blazing event was the Official Miss India Texas Pageant 2009 presented by Kohinoor Diamonds. The day was filled with beautiful ladies who were not only intelligent, but also talented. Four rounds, including the traditional wear, evening wear, talent, and question answer determined who would be crowned the official title of Miss India Texas 2009. Individuals from the audience also received an opportunity to be apart of the pageant and were awarded a fabulous gift basket from Kohinoor Diamonds. After intense elimination there was one contestant who was crowned the official title of Miss India Texas 2009, Rinum Patel, pictured on the left. Rinum wowed the audience and judges as she swayed across the stage with her astonishing dance moves. Sohum Bhatt took the title of first runner up, with her intense Tae Kwon Do performance where she split a plywood board with only the help of her fist. Neelofer Ali, president of Kohinoor Diamonds, was amazed at all the wonderful performances and announced that all the brave contestants are winners in her book. All contestants received a gift basket from Kohinoor Diamonds. The winner and first runner up received a make-up bag from Bibi Magazine, a photo shoot with glittering diamond jewelry and will now be going on an all expense paid trip to Tampa, Florida to participate in the official Miss India USA pageant, which will be held on November 21, 2009.
