1. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: Any woman of Indian origin (regardless of her place of birth) between the ages of 18 and 27 inclusive (on December 31st of the year she participates), never married and never having had a child, is eligible to participate. The delegate must be a resident, citizen or born in the state of Texas. Appropriate documentation regarding the age and residency status of the delegate must be submitted in order to meet the eligibility requirements. All contestants must have proof of age and residency. The delegates must behave in a manner befitting the title of Miss India Texas Pageant.
2. MISS INDIA TEXAS PAGEANT: State-wide winners who are selected for the official Miss India Texas Pageant will be judged in the following categories:
(A) INDIAN DRESS
(B) EVENING GOWN
(C) TALENT
(D) QUESTION AND ANSWER
3. PRIZES: All participants for the Miss India Texas pageant will receive recognition on stage along with special gift baskets from the sponsors of the pageant.
In previous pageants, the first runner-up has received an all expense paid trip to Tampa, Florida to take part in the Miss India Pageant. She also had the oppritunity to sign a contract for porfessional modeling with the pageant's sponsors.
The winner who was previously crowned Miss India Texas received an all expense paid trip to Tampa, Florida to take part in the Miss India USA pageant* along with a $1000.00 scholarship from Kohinoor Diamonds, a photo shoot, and other prizes from the Sponsors. Kohinoor Diamonds has also award a contract for the title of "model of the year" for the past winners.
This years prizes will include a paid trip to Miss India USA, gift certificates, photoshoots, portfolios, and much more.
*Note: It is mandatory for the winner to take part in Miss India USA
